What is Rafterio?
Rafterio is a free information website from The Nelson M Group LLC that explains home improvement topics, such as estimates, permits and budgets, in plain language.
Is Rafterio a contractor or a marketplace?
No. We do not perform or sell home improvement work, give quotes or price estimates, take project requests, or connect you with contractors. Nothing here is professional, legal or financial advice.
Can you tell me what my project will cost?
No. Costs depend on your home, your region and your choices. We explain how estimates work so you can read the ones you get.
Will you refer me to contractors or lenders?
No. We do not recommend, rank, match or refer you to contractors, lenders or any other service provider.
Do you share my details with contractors or lenders?
No. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with contractors, lenders, marketplaces or other partners. Our Privacy Policy describes the limited cases where service providers handle data for us.
What do I get when I sign up?
Plain-language emails about the topics you choose. If you opt in to texts, you also get short texts pointing to the same guides.
Do I have to agree to texts?
No. Texts are optional, with two separate unchecked boxes. You can sign up without ticking either one.
How often will you text me?
Message frequency varies, up to about 8 a month. Msg & data rates may apply.
How do I stop texts?
Reply STOP to any text. Reply HELP for help. You can also email [email protected].
How do I stop emails or delete my information?
Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to [email protected].
Do I need a permit for my project?
That depends on the work and where you live. Ask your local building department. Our permits guide explains what to ask.
