About Rafterio
A small, plain-spoken guide for a topic most people meet only when a roof leaks or a kitchen gives up.
Why this exists
Most people meet home improvement in a hurry: a leak, a quote, a word they have not seen before. Rafterio sorts the vocabulary and the process so it makes sense before the rush.
What we cover
We explain how estimates are built, when permits and inspections apply, how to write a scope of work, how to set a budget with a cushion, and how to check a business before you sign. We keep the language plain and the claims modest.
What we do not do
We do not perform or sell home improvement work, quote prices, take project requests, or match people with contractors or lenders. We do not share your details with anyone who might want to sell you something.
Where the facts come from
We write from general, widely shared guidance, such as the consumer information published by the Federal Trade Commission, state licensing boards and local building departments. We point to those public sources when they are the best place to learn more. If something here differs from what your local authority or a licensed professional tells you, they win.
